København brændte i 1728 og 1795. Hør om de uheld og fejltrin, der gjorde brandene så ødelæggende. Foredraget fortæller om kampen mod ilden, og hvordan det indre København stadig er præget af de to katastrofer. Brandene er dokumenteret i flere malerier, stik og beretninger fra tiden.
